CONCORD, NC -- Karter Beattie opened the 2025 Millbridge Speedway micro sprint season with a solid sixth-place finish in the 20-lap main event racing with no power steering.  

Beattie, 13, finished third in his qualifying race and went into the main event with high hopes.  He started eighth on the right track, and worked the top groove for a few laps before settling in on the bottom in his usual "catfish" manner.  He worked his way to sixth and caught the top five just as the power steering went out on his 600cc micro sprint, but he muscled the car through the last ten laps.

The motor quit right at the finish line, likely due to a dead battery, so it was fortunate that the race wasn't longer than the 20-lap distance.

Karter's next scheduled start will be Wednesday, March 19th, right back at Millbridge Speedway.
